First Aiders for Companies

Why is the education and training of "company first aiders" (betriebliche Ersthelfer) so important?

Protecting life and health: "Company first aiders" are important because they can protect the lives and health of employees in an emergency. Accidents and injuries can happen at any workplace, so it is important that employees know how to provide first aid.

Enhancing reputation: A company that is committed to the safety of its employees is perceived positively by customers and employees. The education and training of "company first aiders" is a sign that a company takes the safety of its employees seriously.

Reducing costs: Compared to the follow-up costs that can arise from a medical emergency, the costs for training first aiders at work are very low.

Obligation: In Austria, companies are legally required to appoint workplace first aiders (§ 26 ASChG , § 40 AStV , § 31 BauV).

How does the education and training of "company first aiders" work?

A trainer comes to your company and conducts the course in your usual environment. This way, your employees can directly apply what they have learned in their work environment and practice in realistic scenarios.

What prerequisites are necessary?

A suitable room with seating and space for floor exercises is necessary. This does not necessarily have to be a seminar room, as we do not give frontal lectures and do not need a projector. We train the course participants according to the principle of “learning by doing” in the form of exercises and scenarios that we guide.

What does the schedule look like?

Our courses are tailored to each company. Therefore, at the beginning of the course, we always inquire about the topics that are particularly relevant to the participants and set the course priorities accordingly. After that, the exercises begin, which prepare the participants for the subsequent scenario training. We regularly take breaks between the exercises so that the participants can maintain their concentration. Breaks are included in the course time and do not extend the course duration.

How are larger groups (more than 6 people) trained?

Ersthelfertraining trains small groups of up to 6 people. If you have a larger team, we divide it into small groups and practice simultaneously with several trainers. We are also happy to organize a first aid training as a team-building event for many people (e.g. 20 people or more).
