How does first aid training for families and friends work?
A trainer from our team comes to your home and trains with you and your family/friends in your familiar environment. This way, you can directly apply what you have learned and practice in realistic scenarios.
What are the requirements (space, infrastructure, etc.)?
No special preparations are necessary on your part. We take care of everything. The training location should just have seating and space for exercises on the floor. A living room is usually very suitable to start the course. From there, we can also do exercises in other rooms as the course progresses. We bring blankets and non-slip mats for floor exercises with us.
What is the schedule like?
First, we discuss which topics are particularly important to the participants so that we can focus on them during the training. At the beginning of the course, we also clarify the participants’ experience, as we like to build on the existing knowledge.
From then on, first aid measures are practiced. The exercises are later repeated and combined in scenario trainings. There are short breaks for recovery between the exercises. If a longer break for lunch, for example, is desired, this can also be arranged.
What is taught in a first aid training? What content is covered?
Our first aid courses are tailored to the needs of our customers. The longer the course, the more topics we can cover.
In the first 4 hours, you usually learn the most important life-saving measures for babies, children, and adults. If you are interested in all age groups, we train all measures in parallel on manikins of different ages.
In children’s emergency courses, we usually start with the steps for a choking emergency. Then you learn how to check for breathing of an unresponsive child. After that, you practice dealing with breathing unresponsive patients as well as non-breathing patients, including resuscitation with a defibrillator.
After that, we cover one or two more topics that are relevant to you (e.g., seizure, respiratory distress, severe allergic reaction, head injury, arm or leg injury, severe bleeding on the arm, burn/chemical burn, nosebleed, wound care, traffic accidents, helmet removal, circulatory collapse, heat emergency, poisoning, psychiatric emergency, stroke, diabetes, turning and moving unresponsive patients out of danger situations).
We always teach our first aid courses according to the guidelines of the Austrian Red Cross.
Do I receive a certificate? What can it be used for?
Yes, you will receive a course certificate from us after the first aid training. The Austrian Labor Inspectorate ("Arbeitsinspektorat") recognizes our course certificates as proof of education and training for "company first aiders" (betriebliche Ersthelfer) . If this is important to you, please let us know before the course so that we can tailor the course content accordingly.
Our course certificates cannot be used for a driver’s license. The necessary “Proof of Instruction in Life-Saving Immediate Measures” according to (§6 FSG-DV) is a certificate that can only be issued by certain agencies, such as the Austrian Red Cross or the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, according to Austrian law.
How do I book a first aid training for families and friends?
